Need Home Decor Inspiration? Why I Love the Cote de Texas Blog!

My passion for seagrass area rugs blossomed thanks to Cote de Texas!

For those of you who truly enjoy reading about home décor and interior design, I’d be remiss if I didn’t introduce you to Cote de Texas.

After all, it was the Cote de Texas blog that served as the inspiration for the design of just about everything inside and outside of our first home.  Since we built the house in 2009, the Cote de Texas blog inspired everything from our home’s stucco elevation and landscaping to the hardwood floors and kitchen design.  Thank you Cote de Texas!

Here’s  a bit more about the blog and why I love it dearly:

This Houston-based design blog is written by an interior designer named Joni Webb. Joni has an amazing eye for style, which see refers to as a Southern Look.  I love what some might call the “Southern look”!

Her blog often features jaw-dropping interiors so gorgeous they have, or could, grace the cover of Veranda magazine.  Still, what makes this blog so worth the read is that it offers inspiration for real people.  Many of her posts are dedicated to showcasing how real families incorporate designer looks into their homes in a stylish, livable, affordable way.

As I’m writing this, I can’t help but think about how many times I’ve referenced the Cote De Texas blog for inspiration in building and decorating our former home.  It’s so ironic that through her blog, I not only found inspiration for decorating our first house, but was introduced to a new city that at the time I would never have guessed I’d one day call home.    It’s amazing how things almost never turn out the way you had originally planned.

See the images below to find out  what design elements inside and outside our former home can be directly attributed to inspiration from the Cote de Texas blog.

Many of the homes showcased on the Cote de Texas blog feature strong focal points that are accentuated with enhanced wood moulding.

The homes featured on the Cote de Texas blog have the most gorgeous custom window treatments and are often crafted in a solid silk fabric.

After seeing the kitchens featured on the Cote de Texas blog, I knew I wanted off-white cabinets, a creamy travertine backsplash and a decorative cabinet over the gas cook top. For more kitchen inspiration check out her post title 'Kitchens 101: Elements to Copy'!!!
